Geology of the Tillamook Head--Necanicum Junction area, Clatsop County, Five distinct lithologic units compose the Tertiary rocks in the Tillamook Head - Necanicum Junction area of the northern Oregon Coast Range. Based upon mapping by Niem and Niem () and 15 Oregon State University master's thesis maps, our (Niem, Wells) U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) field mapping ( min quadrangles) in the northern Oregon Coast Range, exploration wells, and seismic reflection lines in the Mist gas field and in Clatsop County (Niem et al.,), the locus.
